Let me tell you a little story about a beautiful friendship. A story about soul sisters.
I called one of my best friends, Kimberly, the other night. No reason. I was just thinking about how much I missed her, so I decided to call. I proceeded to tell her that the past couple of weeks had been pretty rough for me. As always, she was supportive and let me vent.
After we hung up, she called me back and asked me if I had checked my mail that day. I had not. She told me to go check it. We hung up and I did as she requested. To my surprise, inside the mailbox were two gifts. It wasn’t my birthday or anything. When I called her back to thank her, I was crying.
She did not know how terrible the last two weeks had been until our phone call earlier that evening. I asked her how she could have known I needed something to lift my spirits. Her response was so beautiful. She told me we are soul sisters. She said she could feel it in her soul that I needed something to lift my spirits, so she sent me gifts a few days prior.
This is the true meaning of friendship. When one person can feel that the other is not okay.
Ironically, she thought I had called her that night to thank her for the gifts, but I did not know she sent them. That is just another example of how connected our souls are.
I truly hope that everyone has a Kimberly in their lives to make their lives so much happier. I am thankful I have her in my life.
What a great story! The love and support of friends is a true blessing.
Thank you! Also, thank you for all the love, support, and laughs since we were kids. I don’t know how I would do life without you. I love you, so very much.
This is so genuine and heartfelt Becca. Your story touched my soul and I have the tears to prove it. Miss you always!
Thank you for this sweet comment. It means so much to me to hear feedback. Especially this type of feedback. You have been such a great friend to me since we met in 2007. My very first friend at our very first duty station. That relationship meant more to me than you will ever know. You seriously got me through living in a new state and through my first deployment. Not only did you get me through it, we laughed our way through it because you are so funny! Which made the deployment so much more bearable. For that, I will forever be grateful and thankful. I love the cards you send me. I’m so thrilled that our friendship has continued to grow over the years.
